“What a bitch!”
“Mom? What's going on?”, perguntou Asa
surpreso com o ataque de raiva vindo da mãe tão de repente, enquanto os dois
estavam na cozinha.
“Sorry, honey, it's just that I remembered what
happened at the hospital and I got angry. That's it.”
“Ok.”
“She was such a bitch to me and I never did anything
bad to her. On the contrary, I've always been very nice to her.”
“She's jealous of you, that's all.”
“I know, but even so... I mean, she doesn't have to
like me, but she could at least be polite. Did you hear what she said? And this
isn't the first time she's thrown her crap all over me.”
“Well, I guess it's the hormones, after all she just
had a baby.”
“I had as many kids as she did and I didn't treat
people badly when I was pregnant. And what is she jealous of? She has children,
several, she’s married, has a good job, a company that is growing. What do I
have that she doesn't have?”
“I don’t know.”
“You know, I'm just making an effort this Christmas because
of you, son, ‘cause I know you'll be happier spending Christmas with your
father and siblings. If it were up to me, I’d stay away from this woman as possible
and these people I don't even know that well. You know what? From now on, our
conversations will be just "Hello" and "Goodbye". There is
no point in trying to maintain a cordial relationship with a snake.
“Fair enough.”
“Does she treat you well, sugar pie? Has she ever been
a bitch to you?”
“No, never. Jessica has always been very good to me.”
“Good! But if she ever treats you badly, you let me
know.”
“I doubt it will ever happen. She’s very loving...
with me, not with you.”
“Knowing that makes me feel calmer and makes me still
have a little respect for her. Her father could not have chosen a worse wife. What
was he thinking?”, Antonella se perguntou, saindo da cozinha.
E
por algum motivo que Asa não sabia explicar, ele se sentiu mal pela Jessica.
